My second nano reef: moving up to 10 gallons

Okay, after having successfully set up and maintained my first reef at 5.5 gallons, I'm now ready to move up to the next level: 10 gallons! I built myself a no frills stand which I painted to my wife's approval, and have just added the gravel, water and filter. Pretty murky, but has cleared up overnight. Picking up some living rock later today from jrwoltman, so that should cut down the cycling tremendously! Lights came in today, but neither of them work! Tried them in three different sockets and nothing! :heart-borken:

Added some live rock today from JRWoltman's tank breakdown, along with some base rock so now the tank is on the way. Only problem is lighting since the lights I ordered were bad. As a stop gap I picked up a bulb from Menards that puts out 1300 lumens at 6500K.

Just squirt off the red slime, and siphon it all of it out of the tank, with a turkey baster.

I've been experimenting with a new light fixture I built form PVC. I also have two 15 Watt LED PAR 30 lights. The one on the left has the 60 degree lenses in place, and the one on the right has them removed. Opinions?

Really cant compare as I have never had a big tank.
