Need help with skimmer on new tank

Hi guys so I recently just started my 75 build, I had the tank running now for a couple of days and added a protein skimmer today

My issue is that the bubbles from the protein skimmer are getting to my main tank. I am very much a noob to this so I figured I would ask the community.

I have a ASM g1 protein skimmer with the g-500 pump with needlewheel impeller and venturi, I tried adjusting the height of the skimmer, tried adjusting the outflow tube higher and lower still getting a ton of microbubble past the bubble trap in my sump and into the main tank.

my questions are since this is a new tank and first time I am putting on a protein skimmer is this normal to get this amount of bubbles? should I just wait it out? it seems like I have a ton of water flowing out of the skimmer

Here are some pictures of my issue

I'd add a few more baffles next to the one baffle that's there. I think it should help with the micro bubbles. I'd put two shorter ones on either side of the existing baffle in the skimmer section

Yeah tried adjust both. Tried searching everywhere and I can't seem to find the issue. This will be my first protein skimmer, to me it seems like there is to much water outflow and to many microbubbles might it be there is something in the tank that is causing the skimmer to overskim?

Sometimes it takes skimmers a couple of days to adjust and start running correctly, but since you've already mentioned that it's been running for a couple of days I figured it wouldn't be that.

It looks to me like the sponge is too low and the water runneth over. Try pulling the sponge about 2 inches above the pvc. I used to run an ASM and this should do the trick.

This exactly. I had the g2 and had the same problem if it wasn't adjusted correctly. Lower the tube and raise the sponge.

So I added an acrylic sheet to the sump as a bubble trap by the skimmer before the refugium and worked very well but still getting some bubbles to the tank not much. I want my tank bubble free still need to work on other methods maybe another bubble trap and a gate valve on the skimmer. Thanks for all of your input really appropriate it.

Lol I can't help uploading sideways pictures no idea why. I will give it a couple weeks and see if the skimmer produces less bubbles in the water I heard about the break in period with skimmers but this skimmer is used?

Also I really don't like how you've positioned the light. If you're using that light to grow something in your middle chamber it will also grow coraline algae in your protein skimmer, I'd have it pointing away.

This light is temporary I will be making a DIY led fixture for it with possibly a 10w red led and a 10w white led for the refugium

Alright so I guess the problem resolved by it self. Just had to wait roughly 2 days and the microscopic microbubbles disappeared on their own from the skimmer. Now the bubbles coming from the skimmer outlet are not that fine of bubbles.

Wish I would have known that the whole time lol. Its a learning process. Thanks for everyone's help!
