Its normal dont worry increases flow helps 6months imo is still a young reef they run there best after a yr or so

That's no big deal . Bet you feed a meaty food . Feed less and back lights on time a little . All normal . You can siphone it out and sir it up to slow it down .

i have good flow. i got once diatom bloom.

how do i find out if it is diatom or red slime.

i feed once a day. i feed meaty food 4 times a week (3 time rods original fish food & 1 time Hikari Mysis Shrimp). 3 time a week new life spectrum.

I agree, this is just part of the journey. I also agree on the meaty foods, anything I feed that is even slightly oily will cause blooms like this in a short time. It's also your tanks way of learning to deal with excess nutrients.

Frim pics looks like diatoms and everyone is on point with info . I didnt say u dont have good flow i said u can increase flow specially at sand bed if there was good flow on sand bed u wouldnt see it as much i had same issue when i set mine up in new house i did what top water said stir it up and when i did water changes i vacuumed it out . Eventually tank gets stabile and wont matter meaty or non meaty foods u wont have as many issues

Thank you so much for all your help. i am doing 20% water change today. going to clean my send bed.
