Hello and Happy New Year everyone! Just joined Chicago Reef and this is my first post. My set-up so far is as follows:
50gal Acrylic tank
AquaC remora skimmer
Eheim 'classic' 250 canister filter
ecoxotic full spectrum 24" LEDs
ecoxotic panorama 12000k 12.5" LEDs
Hydor Top off system
Hydor Wave Maker
2 Hydor 425gph circ. pump
1 Hydor 240gph circ. pump
2 Eheim 125w heaters
10gal. QT Hosp. tank(boxed set-up from Walmart, no substrate, internal filter, Hydor heater, Dry Rock, SpongeBob guy for a place to relax)
Aprox. 70lbs. Dry rock(will be removing some)
15lbs of LR
40lbs. of Fuji pink Live Sand
A bunch of other stuff
I tried to cycle tanks with frozen raw shrimp, but remembered the smell and removed them. I've read about and was told at LFS about using a clownfish to cycle the tank. I used to use Damsels, but really didn't have them on my stocking list. I do have either a Black and White or a Maroon clownfish on my list, however the Maroon is a little more aggressive, so I'd go with the Black and White. It wasn't my choice to add him first, though. I know this isn't the stocking section, but this is my planned list of fish at this time.

My first attempt at a Reef set-up, so I can use all the help I can get! Thanks in advance. I've had a 55g FOWLR on two occasions and a 120g FOWLR about four years ago.
