New Maxspect wavemaker - Pretty Cool

Yep, saw it a while ago and registered for pre-order with coralvue. I wish someone else was importing maxspect, but what are you gonna do. Now I'm just waiting to see the dimensions on the smallest size.
 
Yea it is pretty awesome. I saw the prototype in person the other day. It can supply flow for a 50 or a 250. I hope it's not crazy expensive.
 
I believe reefbuilders was predicting it would be pretty cheap as far as the pump market goes. No high strength magnets to drive the impeller, simple controller, etc.
 
I'v only seen it work on empty tanks pushing water starigh tacross the top returning across the bottom. I wonder how it works with a tank full of rock and corals, Also I wonder if you can point it up and down to shoot it across the back of the tank pushing it around the front, Hmm Questions I'd like to see it on a full tank before I get hooked
 
There are multiple videos from coralvue in full tanks as well as a longer explanation about how you can change the position to verticle. I would find it but I'm on my phone right now. I think you can get it on reef central on the coralvue section.
 
The surge mode is also pretty cool - Id perfect it to be released in black as well (verses the clear) to help 'hide' equipment in the tank.

It's probably produced over seas as well which will help reduce cost. So ReefBuilders is probably right. Good news is it's coming from a manufacturer with a decent market share and company structure so you can only expect it to get better over time too. Love seeing new things come to the market. Helps out hobby out so much.
 
If it works in a populated tank as good as it does in an empty tank I think this will be a Vortech killer.

People say that about jebaos too. Bottom line is, your wires are still in the tank. I don't believe it will be a vortech killer.
