The controller

the basic controller which comes with every Riptide has the following functions:-

Normal flow - the Riptide is spinning in the normal direction.
Reverse flow- The Riptide is spinning in reverse.
Constant speed- The Riptide flows at a constant speed set by the user.
Pulsing Mode - This means it pulses from high to low speeds.
Alternating Gyre Mode - This is a forward rotation and then a reverse rotation at speeds set by the user. Also duration between switching from one direction of rotation and speed to another set by the user.
Feeding mode - This turns off the Riptide for 10 mins whilst feeding takes place

The Constant speed is set up the user in 10% increments from 10%-100% ie 10% 20% 30% and so on. The settings in all modes are the same ie 10-100%.

PULSING MODE

The pulsing mode with max speed set at 80% with a 10 second pulse. There are 20 pulsing speed setting to assign, from 0.4s, 0.5s, 0.6s, 0.7s, 0.8s, 0.9s,1s, 1.3s, 1.6s, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 6s, 7s, 8s, 9s, 10s, 20s and 30s.

The Riptide comes with spare rotors and flow cages and with use of these the Alternating Gyre Mode a selection of flow patterns and turbulence can be setup within the aquarium.
Also the flow cages can be positioned by the user to create flow in the direction required.

The 2 cage designs are user exchanged, flow or turbulence one each side of the pump, so you can change the flow, 2 x A version is for Gyre 2 x B is for turbulence or you can mix the two sides

in Gyre mode the timing is 2min 5 min 10 min 15 min 30 min 1 hour 2/4/6/12 hours alternating flow

The control unit itself comes with a cradle that can be mounted on the aquarium itself the stand or any flat surface. The Riptide is mounted within the aquarium via a powerful magnetic mount."
