New scape - almost ready for some corals!

Hey all - decided to redo the landscape in my 5 gallon. Removed about half the rock I previously had as I thought it looked too cluttered. Didn't think it was optimal for coral placement either.

Anyway, tank is about 4 weeks old at this point. Have had CUC for about two weeks and seem to all be doing fine. Did another water change yesterday but haven't tested levels yet.

Really hoping I can buy some corals from some of you in the next couple weeks!

I like the scape! Did you secure any of those rocks down? I would be worried about that top one being knocked over!

I did not secure them down... Was sorta thinking the same thing but the top piece is probably the heaviest of the bunch aside from the bottom. I do have some epoxy though - do you think I should or do you think it'd be okay? I do plan on moving in the next 6 months - probably a smart idea (and now I'm talking to myself).

Also - where in Lisle are you? I lived in Green Trails for 13 years or so, then moved to south Naperville, then to Chicago about 9 years ago.

What are you thinking about stocking it with?

I was thinking zoas/green polyps/shrooms and 'hopefully' frogspawn. I think I'm gonna see how a small clown/perc does as well. My LFS has a good supply of the clowns/percs - if for some reason they don't seem to be doing okay, I'm sure they'll QT it and take it back.

Looks cool. I would glue or epoxy for sure. All you need is for one of those rocks to get loos and squash some coral.

Great looking scape!

Yes use epoxy on some of the rocks. That will help them not to fall. I used it on my rock and it's solid. Several pieces were put together and now I can take out the Rock in 1 piece. I used the instant ocean epoxy. It's white but in time corals or coraline algae will cover it.

If u do use epoxy it will b easier to transport and u will keep the same scape u have now. Usually once u move rocks around I can never get it back how it was.

Thanks! I just ordered some more glue. Going to glue/epoxy/glue the 3 rocks on top of the main rock together when I do a water change this weekend.

New Corals, pics!! 5.1 Ecopico

Met an awesome fellow forum member/Chicago Reefer, Tangency, last night, and he was more than generous with his corals. I added some frogspawn, polyps, GSP, mushrooms. These pictures were only taken an hour after putting into my tank, so I can't wait for a few more days for them to fully open up.
