new to saltwater

Before I got started I went out and bought a couple good books to read. I could probably lend you a couple. I'm in Westchester. The most important thing in this hobby is to take your time and do plenty of research and reading before you get started. Its very easy to waste money in this hobby with the wrong information.

Learn to work the Google machine...read through all the beginner threads on reefcentral. Check out melevsreef. And use the search function here and on RC.
 
I spent about 6 months before i even started my first SW tank and when i did i went big. 150 gallons very first tank. 2 yrs later its doing great. My recommendation would be to look at filtration first, thats going to be a good chunk of change and know how. Just a suggestion.
