Octopus Diablo DC 200 Skimmer

I just got a Skimz SM163 which looks like it uses the same pump as the skimmer you are looking at. The pump looks to be well built and the controller is easy to use. The pump pulls a ton of air and is pretty quiet. I have only been running it for two days but so far I am happy with it. The skimmer is starting to produce skimmate and is running nicely.

It does not quite look like its recirculating. Not really sure what the Doc pump really gets you. It's probably nice for cleaning. I want a skimmer neck cleaner before a Dc pump.

Although both skimmers are rated about the same, the Reef Octopus uses a much bigger pump, DC5000 vs DC3000. Air pull is 2100 l/h vs 1200 l/h. Skimz skimmers are overrated.
