PAR meter rental

I realized a PAR meter is not one of the essential piece of gadget, but certainly is useful once in a while.
With this being said, I'm not sure why, but I ended up buying a brand new Apogee MQ-200 Quantum.

I'm willing to let other reefers borrow it with certain condition:
1. You Break it/Damage it/Abuse it, then you will have to replace it.
2. Should be picked up & returned from place of my convenience.
3. Should be returned back within a reasonable amount of time

Lastly: This is a $370 piece of equipment, if you feel like like paying something for rental, that will be appreciated & I will leave that to your judgement.

Unless I know you personally, please make arrangements to pledge some guarantee for the safety of the gadget. To make this flexible on the community, I will leave the guarantee up to you to convenience me the worth.
I'm willing to mail the meter as long as you pay for the shipping. (Paypal $300 guarantee required in this case which I will of course refund on the return of meter)
 
This was tried on RC/CMAS then kind of disappeared - Just a few possible suggestions:

-It's great that you're trusting of everyone, but the fact is unless you personally know every individual that barrows it, you can just take people's 'kind word'. You should have them paypal gift you $370 (aka cost of product) which will be refunded to them upon you receiving the meter back with no damages.
-You can elect to ship it to individuals, however they pay shipping both ways (saves you time from meeting up with everyone)
-Should allow a maximum time frame, say 1 week - Inidividual should be able to get all the needed reading/adjustments within 1 week, with a $/day late fee (taken out of refunded money) otherwise some will have it for a month saying (I just didnt get around to testing) and no one will benefit.

you will get a list quickly of people that would like to barrow - its a great thing to do for the community, allowing use of an expensive piece of equipment - just want to make sure your a$$ is covered so you dont get burned.

+1 on the deposit thing, its good to trust ppl but everyone is not worth the trust.

and Yes if you want a rent paid you can name it ... there is nothing wrong with it and you are still doing a favour to the community.
 
Thanks Dan, I respect your opinion. My intention is to lend it to people well known on this forum. It is a risk I will be taking trusting people. My conditions updated as suggested.

Can we rent you to come over and take the measurements. We can pay you in cash, coral....or gum.

It's a pretty simple gadget Walt, I can walk you through it & you can play with it.

I'll probably just update the first post with people who currently have it & when the meter will be available again.
 
Agreed with the suggestions above.

I'd rent it out and i'd require a fee (how ever much the unit cost) that will get refunded upon getting the meter back in same working condition.

I wouldn't ship it. Keep it local to where u can either meet people or have them come to u to get it. U get rid of the risk of, Lost in the mail, item was delivered but i wasn't home, ect.

Very nice of u to rent this out to the CR fam but protect urself.
 
Shaun u dont like u par meter do ya. Deposit or leave wife behind would be my rules. U crazy shaun . Been hangin around me too much i think
