Parasite?

Hobby grade aren't too pricey ($150-250,) but go to old lab grade and the price jumps. Mine was several times that with optics and illuminators. I'm not that far if you ever have a need!
 
Hopefully there aren't too many unexpected deaths, but I will definitely take you up on that. Put on our lab coats and start the experiment!
 
Will do. I do actually have a lab coat but it was a joke from a brewing friend as we call each other Dr. while making beer, LOL. I'm limited on my stains, but all in due time. It's fun to look at all kinds of reef and frog stuff under a scope. It's dual head scope so 2 people can look at the same time.
 
:p I'm going to have to get one. I don't know how much stains cost, but I can bring some if/when this happens. That sounds like a fancy piece of kit. How is the froggy doing btw?!?
 
No need to buy or bring anything, I have iodine and methyl blue. Quite primitive but they help for some things.

Frog is doing well, I've got him slimmed down. He does have nemetodes that I'm still working on identifying but with no visable negative reactions from them, I won't treat as the meds are not benign to the frog.
 
Methylene blue is the most common stain for slides, probably have some in your cabinet if you keep any freshwater. They use it for ich as well.

Exactly why I had it on hand. There are several other stains Noga references to highlight certain pathogens.

Yep, waiting on a couple books from Australia to identify genus of the little buggers.
