Parrot fish

Does anyone have any experience with parrot fish in a reeftank?
Do they bother corals or inverts? I've been seeing a lot of juvi
Parrots in stores and watching YouTube videos and seems they are ok but just wanted
Some advice please and thank you

They munch on sps and turn it into sand not sure about lps though. Oh it munched on the rock too fyi

They eat coral for snack. Well in the wild they sharpen their beaks on hard corals. I avoid parrot fish and would not recomend it for a reef.
Fish only yes

That's the stories behind them in the wild but did you guys ever personally try one
I personally think they eat rock for the beaks and eat algae

They are designed by nature to eat coral, not rock. Have you ever been on a white sand beach? Parrot fish excrement that used to be coral.

If you value your coral and small inverts then IMHO I don't think you should risk it. I've seen them do it in the past in both aquariums and actual coral reefs. It's what they do.

I had one it made sand all day if u know what i mean . Was beautiful fish though

Prob another dumb question what about morish idols anyone

Do yourself a favor and skip over the moorish idol , all 6 i tried ate coral like the Golden Coral buffet
