Phosban reactor

BRS high capacity GFO 1 tablespoon per 50 gallons. Rinses clean almost immediately with no tank residue and will"slowly" reduce phosphate. Your tank and inhabitants will love you for it. I went from tank crash with brown algae explosion to rock 98% clean and no visible brown algae. Two urchins helped clean up as well. Color me impressed....new sps frags are thrilled

Thats the stuff im using

Well one thing I learned for GFO and Biopellets Joe is this......throw the manufacturers recommended dosage out the window! GFO at one tablespoon cleaned my algae problems in a matter of a week to week and a half. One tablespoon and change it out every week to two weeks since it will become exhausted more quickly. You know as well as I do that sps hate rapid changes. The manufacturers dosage will bleach sps even at half the dosage if you don't lower your lights intensity. Feed your tank well and I predict you will see a positive change. I'm staring at my tank now thrilled because it just did a 180 and I was ready to throw in the towel.

LOL you are only using 1 tablespoon?

I have 4 fish, about 40 gallons with sump included and use 1/2 cup of GFO every 2-3 weeks. Running algae scrubber and have macro algae in display. I must be doing something wrong to have to use 1/2 cup on such a small tank with little fish.

How new is your tank though im sure im gonna be in same boat as u as my rock cycles. Imo i messed up and saved a buck useing dry sand i should of went live sand never had these issues with live sand .

1/2 cup with only fish is no big deal as the fish won't be affected. Throw a half a cup with a bunch of sps that were living in high phosphate water and keeping the light intensity the same will result is bleached sps from the rapid phosphate reduction. Been there ,done that......my phosphates were at .5 and they slowly went down by changing out a tablespoon every week. Just sharing my experience......real slow like, wins the battle:)

I had GHA like no other, I'm talking 8" long waves of GHA, it was growing on the glass, the sand, the powerheads, return line, rocks! Every place possible and it was only getting worse and spreading..

I used (& still use) Seachem Phosguard in the BRS dual reactor in the GFO compartment, the outlet of the dual reactor goes through a 13W UV and spills out by the return pump.

Adding Stitch (Blue Hippo Tang) really helped and my algae has not returned yet...not even a CM, about 80% of the time Stitch is scavenging all over my rocks for any algae.

I should mention during this I did use PhospateRX at a 1/4-1/2 dose like 3 times at most.

I bought 400ml of TLF NPX biopellets, I'm gonna start this coming weekend with 1/4 dose and document the process on my build, if your interested in seeing how things go for someone starting it for the first time
