Plate Corals - Should I Take Them Off of This Rock??

Hi all,

I recently bought a piece of rock that has 2 plate corals and a colony of radioactive dragon eye zoas. They're all healthy and doing well so far, but I've only had them a week. I keep wondering if the plates should'nt be moved off of the rock and into their own spot on the sand. I'm changing tanks within the next 8 days and will probably at least leave them until I move them unless they show signs of stress. It's eating and seems happy but this is my first one (two) so I'm basing this off of appearances and my good water params. Would they move on their own if they decide that they don't like the arrangement?

Thanks!

I would check them at night too. I could be wrong but I thought these had stingers at night for feeding. They might hit some that surrounding coral. Keep us posted.

They do but the question is do they actually move on there own.. Sounds like they puff up so they catch current to move. Or is it pesky fish and inverts pushing them around :)

Yea someone else had them moving on here recently to so when i googled seems like they puff up and the current can take them for a ride . Id seperate them so they can grow that bigger one maybe hindering the growth of the smaller one . But maybe still glue to a rock so they stay put ?

Thanks, I think I will find out how to separate them and place them on their own. The little one definitely seems crowded but still, it looks pretty happy under the circumstances.

Can anyone suggest the best method of removing the plates from the rock?
