PLumbing my 75

So i'm going to attempt to plumb my 75 today and just wanted some opinoins on my set-up. I have a sump right now but I dont have a return pump so i'm installing 2 true-unions on my plumbing so it's just a matter of screwing the new pipes in and finishing the bottom plumbing for the sump once i get one.

Any tips/help would be appreciated. It's gonna be hard plumbed.

Sounds like a good plan. Fairly simple to do just take your time and double check measurements.

I also usually dry fit it all before glueing it.

NP. I also usually place the union very low in the system. Say a foot away from the pump. That way if needed you can undo it and replace or upgrade pump very easily. Plus you can reach it from inside the stand rather then squeezing between the wall and the tank.

thats a good idea, Here is a pic of the pump i picked up from Dre, Would the drain be on the left and the return on the right then? I'm not going to be currently running a skimmer.

Kinda hard to tell with the lines in the pic. But from the looks of it. Drain to the right and pump on left. So it would drain to the right where the slimmer would usually go, the DSB, the what looks to be the bubble catch, then return. But I could be wrong in that. Ask Dre how he had it setup.

Drain on the left, because the bubble traps would be where the protein skimmer would be if you had one, then return on the right.

Just look at your sump baffles and think of a waterfall so the water keeps flowing down. the drain is the highest baffle and your return is the lowest

for the drain pipe into the fuge, does it get submersed or does it sit right at the water line? I've been googling pictures but every set-up is different.

Drain should be by skimmer and everything else should fall into place.. Waterfall effect ;)
