PLumbing my 75

I usually have mine submersed a little going into a micron dock. Keeps it a little quiter so u don't here a splashing sounds. Bit if ur running glass tops, I would cut it higher and let it splash to help with oxygen exchange.

yeah but i have no skimmer :a28:

So i just have a pipe that drains into the sump itself. Just curious as to how/where it would sit. I've seen 90* bends at the top of the water level and i think i've seen just pipes that go into the water. Like i said i was google'ing set-ups and cant really see anyones drain pipes lol

what do u mean glass tops?

If it were me, I'd run the drain 2" from the bottom of the sump and have a small sock on it. I built my own sump, and I used some acrylic to make bubble traps around the drain pipes too, and also rock rubble on the bottom to work out any gunk. That way the water/bubbles from the drain have to go up and over walls before they get into the skimmer chamber. I know it's overkill because of a second round of bubble traps, but this way I don't need socks.

My typical setup for my customers is micron sock> skimmer> fuge> bubble trap with either sponge filter or polyfill> then heater and pump. In some cases ATO and dosers are in the last chamber as well.

You don't have the fuge and skimmer on opposite ends and the return in the middle? Makes for much more efficient skimming/natural filtration by allowing slower flow through the fuge.

it's all good. Got the sump pre-set up through dre and i'm not really familiar with sumps so i dont even know if i can change it. I may just use it as is but again, i dont have a return pump so the sump is on hold lol

On dual overflow pipes yes I've done setups like this. But with a single pipe, I'll usually just run it that way.

And like yogo said, your sump is made to only work 1 way since the baffles are already in place.

I like to use flexible pvc for the overflow. The solid pvc tends to be noisy. That would mess up the union idea. Also, make sure you rough the edges of pvc when glueing. Sometimes the bulkheads can fit a little loose and this helps glue bond strong.

I also like to see a small t on the return plumbing to pump out water for WC. No dripping siphon tube this way.

That's a good idea with the t. My bulk heads are threaded on both sides. Are u talking about the spa flex?
