Here is a weird one. Why would my powerheads run backwards sometimes? They are koralia 4. They have done this since i put them on my reefkeeper wavemaker controller.

short answer, because they are koralia's.
long answer, are they on a timer/controller/anything that turns them off and back on throughout the day. try cleaning out the pump.

They have this problem with Koralias when they turn on and off.There is a long thread on RC about this.

Well, for starters, they don't run in reverse on my wavemaker! They are 1600gph, however, they produce a nice wide flow pattern so they don't blast in a straight line (which made my Koralia's hard to position to get good flow while hitting all corals without blasting them.)The flow really spreads out and covers a wide area. The downside is that the wide flow doesn't really make it to the other side of my 4' tank very well. i had to set my wavemaker to 30sec. intervals to get decent movement opposite each ph. another downside is that they are a little big/bulky.

You can't beat the price! I paid $119 for 2 ph's and the OceanPulse wavemaker.
