Prazi Use?

So, I'm in the process of QTing my fish, and would like to treat for IPs proactively. I realize I can just follow the directions on the bottle, but I have also heard of people soaking food in it? Should I do that as well, instead, or not at all? If so - how often do you soak the food, every time you feed for a week, once, twice? Finally, if you do soak the food - do you just pour a bit right from the bottle, or do you dilute it and soak it that way?

Sorry, loads of questions, and this is my first proper QT...

I just treat as directed. I've heard about soaking food with Metro (antibiotic), but never prazipro. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it. Metro actually has directions on the bottle for doing so. Prazipro just has directions for treatment (whole tank) and for a dip/bath.

Right on, thanks! I'll just stick to the directions I suppose - unless anyone chimes in with some tips for soaking :)

Ive soaked pellets and shrimp in some and just feed the fish that was for internals if treating for flukes dose the tank . Ive used in reef no issues

Awesome, thanks Joe! I'll try it out :) and dose the tank too I suppose, guessing it won't hurt!

Have you guys experienced issues with Prazi affecting the appetites of fish? I heard some fish stop eating with Prazi, but I have no personal experience.

If you add garlic to the med soak, it will make the food tastier & enhance appetite. FW fish don't drink water so their food has to be soaked with the meds to get it inside them. SW fish do drink water but it wouldn't hurt to soak their foods, too. I soak every meal & feed for for 3-5 days.

I dosed my display tank with Prazi about a year ago. All of my fish had a bad case of flukes. It took three doses seven days apart, but my tank suffered no ill effects. I didn't lose a single fish or coral. It makes the skimmer go crazy, so you have to adjust that, but no big deal.

Its meant to be used as a tank treatment. Not for soaking food in it. Some fish seem to loose appetite when tank has Prazi in it.

It also works as a food soak, but often fish won't eat it. It's nearly impossible to overdose as well. Have you had a poor experience? Still wondering why you stated "Don't us[e] Prazi"?

I've used it the same way as MADJOE stated- Food soak is ok and is reef safe will not harm your corals- Yet to have a problem with fish not eating

We continuously run a slightly higher then directed dose in our qt system. We have never noticed it to cause fish to not eat. Moorish Idols, Bandits, Regals, etc have all eaten
well with Prazi in the water.

I guess Im wrong ! I use it also in my qt systems but i dont soak food in it. I guess since their swimming in it and eating food, they'll eat the food even if its directly dipped in it. But Ive never thought prazi was meant to be used a a food soak like with garlic or zoecon for example. And I do notice that finicky eaters like idols seem to be less active when prazi is in the water column. My personal experience. I will pay more attention in the future. Again...I can be wrong, maybe its something else making them less active.
