QT Tanks, When to use, how to use, and what to use.

Me personally, I'd skip the fw bath. A fw dip can be very stressful to some fish.

Yes i never understood why people do this yet get mad at me for nit aclimating fish . I lterally just open bag reach in and plop fish in they always end uo eating after five minutes. But then they say fw dip so u telling me its ok to drop a fish in water with out any salt pull em out drop em into a reef but its not ok to drop them in water with a salinity difference . I never understood the arguement behind this lol i still just chuck em in

What about for coral? And does anyone qt coral
I use to when I first started reefing, then after talking to many people it was clear to me no one I talked to pt coral and told me to dip it and set in the tank, I have never lost any coral this way.

I only ask because I've seen some people who do it just in case there's any eggs that dipping didn't kill

Acclimating fish is done for three primary reasons.

Salinity, pH, and Temperature.

I personally do not FW dip fish, but it is a well known and proven method that works. I personally prefer to just acclimate them in a box. However my response was in reference to the question about ensuring there is no copper passed from one tank to another.

I havent acclimated a fish in 7 yrs but thats a personal choice never had issues so i guess ive proven the fact that acclimation is overated. To each there own i would never do fw dip and never do hypo again just my choice i dont push any body to do anything i believe this hobby is different for all what works for some doesnt work for all . U can do the research and make a informed decision i just like to push the boundries and make my own rules on running my tank

QT setup. I must say it looks pretty nice.
