question about Protein skimmer

any advices where should i put the ps in the sump? which champer? by the pump to deliver water back to the tank or from the water run down to the filter bag? please help

here you go. I got this sump for 29g biocube from this seller. he has the sump built without the refugium the bubble walls are in the center. so i want to make half of it for refugium. so I plan to put the protein skimmer in the pump chamber on the right where the water pump back up to the tank.the other side where is closed to the filter sock
I'm going to make part of it as the refugium.
how is that sound. please tell me if that not work.

Well the bubble walls are there to trap any bubbles released from the skimmer. So putting it in the same chamber as the return pump would defeat that purpose. Can you plumb an independent fuge to your sump? Like a small 3/5g aquarium.
 
I checked my Urchin protein skimmer last night, I didn't see any bubbles came out from the hole on the side. so if there no bubbles it should be ok right.
I don't want to have an independent fug to the sump. I don't want to buy more stuffs.
good Ideal tho, but don't want to spend more money..

Try it to see if it works. Most of the time the bubbles that come out of the skimmer are very small and cannot be seen easily, but once there are alot in the display the light reflects off the bubbles and makes it look cloudy. If you have the room for an external fuge you can make one with tank/pump/tubing for under $50, so it's not that much.
