hey guys what will give me the best par

cc120p (which I currently own)
radeon gen 1 (that I may save up for)

I do like the controllability of the radeon but im not sure if it will give me better par?

radeon is less leds but they use cree... and the cc120 has more leds ??

what do you think ??

also what if I put tir lenses in the radeon? will that make a difference?

this will be going on a 24x24x24

IMO you're just paying for the fancy features on the radion and you can control you're Vortech pumps ti synce with it. I think any other LED unit will do just as good as the radions any day. Also 1 unit will be enough

:cough cough: evergrow LED Group Buy :)

iT2040 unit, 24" - fully programmable, sunrise/sunset, moonlights, wireless remote - and best of all you can fully customize the LED bulb color lay out

Haha yeah i know, Jimmy really is great - but just gotta find what unit is the best fit for his particular tank & wants

the features are a good selling point ... I have 2 mp10 w so it would be nice ... I just don't wanna loose par from the cc120p going to the radion

Either can give you more par than your corals can tolerate

+1... Plus you already have this unit. Set the tank up and see how you like it. Then you can decide if you want to make a change.

+100 Didnt realize you already had a CC unit - your rushing alot of things in the hobby, slow down and breathe. If you already have the unit, and its a great one at that, test it out before you go making more changes. Alot of things in this hobby are personal preference, you might like something someone else doesnt but it all works the same. Like Herb mentioned pretty much all these units will give you more par then you will ever need... Test things out for a bit first.

i agree. selling the CC at a loss and then spending more on the radion is taking money away from your new calcium reactor (or w/e). IMHO radions are the iphone of the reefing world. there nearly impeccable, but my budget is ok with a little peccable.

i would say bro.. try out the cc120p on ur new tank.. i thnk it should be just perfect.. but if u really want the sync-ability with having the radion and mp10's i say go for it.. U wont be disappointed either way.. only thing that would be hurting though is the wallet cause the radion cost so much..

Stick it out with your CCs, and save the cash for a different upgrade :) (or more coral!!!) If you're still wondering 6 months - 1 year later, go for a lighting change then!

(Note, I didn't say upgrade! Herbie said it best, you can fry your corals with either light just fine - another reason the discussion of light penetration, etc.... Is less relevant than people make it seem, unless you are trying to grow light hungry SPS on your sand bed in a 3ft deep tank or something!)

I was thinking about it and I thought pretty hard.. im actually being a little too rash ..I will sell mine for 250 (which is still a good deal) which would lighten the difference a little on my side .. so all around I think its a win win for both parties ... I thought about it the light is brand new and im screwing myself ..........so the new price will be 250 for sure anyone interested still can pm me or call me @815 388 3306

thanks guys .. I appreciate the help you guys are the best
