Looking for some input on the long term life span on these bulbs. I'm currently using 250watt 20k Ushio bulbs and switching over these Radium's. I'm using a electronic Galaxy ballast. Let's hear what your guys thoughts are.
Thanks!

I just looked at your reef pictures. With that said seeing what your 120 reef looks like what are you thinking you will gain?
In my mind if it isn't broke don't fix it . A 400 watt Radium is great but so is any Ushio . Cons Electric Bill sky high. Makes a ton of heat . Life span same as most quality German bulbs. Those ballasts have been discontinued but work great.QUOTE=bubblewood;299858]Looking for some input on the long term life span on these bulbs. IMHO The best light was a 400 watt Radium overdriven by an HQI Ballast...Life was 6 months.
Next the 400 watt Radium on an electronic ballast with 110 watt VHOs. I would replace the VHOs in the summer and the Radiums at Christmas to midigate the burn out.
Since then I've been more than pleased with the LED Equivalent.
27 AMPS with MH and VHO to 13 AMPS and higher PAR with Sunrise and Sunset Dimmability.
Personally I would keep the 400 watt Radiums over the Ushio. Would I go back?..No But if I had to that would be my choice.
Love my radiums! Best lighting spectrum IMO with the blue tint, make the switch, it's worth it. I try to change mine out at 6 months if the budget allows
