Raising ALK?

Hey guys,

So idk why i never bothered to test my ALK... but i just found out it's super low... I just figured if my PH was good, so would the ALK... But my alk is only like 3 or 4 right now and my pH is around 8.2... How can I raise my ALK without messing with PH?

I already do 10% water change weekly.

From what you've said on the chat, it's clear that your tank is using FAR more alk than what the 10% water changes do now. Do a LARGE water change, and then dose. Your tank is using more than you're putting in.
 
Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate). You don't want to be running baked baking soda (sodium carbonate), as that one will raise your pH.
 
Possibly! Baking Soda is what I use, but I'm going to use sodium carbonate (Baked Baking Soda) after I run out; my pH is usually around 8.1.
