My new skimmer is here for my upcoming frag tank build. only 3 1/2" wide and ~ 7 1/2" long

Some assembly required

But it was easy and looks as nice as in ads

Excellent, thanks Will. I'm more than likely going to do a 5.5 glass aquarium as a sump and I'm hoping that this would work.

I have the same skimmer on a frag tank. Works great.
I run mine at around 6.5-7". I dont have it hanging, just on the bottom of the sump with pump suctioned to a sump wall.

I like the height and flat bottom. Easy to place in filter area and cover up completely.

Around 6.5-7". With the standpipe all the way depressed, right at the water level. Give or take a little.

Footprint depends on how you position the bottom. It can rotate in circles. I have mine in an area about 5.5x5 with the pump and standpipe sorta like a 'V'. If you put the standpipe on the other side of the pump, like an 'I', you can fit it in an area around 3x7.
