Refugium Lighting

Hi all,

Looking for suggestions on refugium lighting fixtures. I have my refugium in the second chamber of my 30 gallon sump and I'm looking for a clip on type like the Macro Glo fixture or the Finnex Energy Saving Epoch Cliplight.

Thanks in advance

HUGE success with this light: http://coralcompulsion.com/led/led-21w-REF-GRO
my chaeto doubles every 10 days or so and it is beautifully green. I've got macro under several other types of light right now and this combination does by far the best out of any of them. He's got the gooseneck fixtures and mine fit well in my stand and doesn't move unless I want it to. Also, Jimmy is the man.

I just saw the Fuge Light by Coral Compulsion this weekend at the Janesville Swap and it's really impressive. Well made and local as well. If I wasn't already running an Innovative Marine Skylight, I would have bought one.

Jimmy is awesome, and I've been wanting to upgrade my fuge lighting for some time now... In any case, if you want something crazy cheap, you can get a clip on light from Home Depot for $5 or less, and a simple grow light from them as we'll for another $5 or so. The grow lights are designed for house plants, but that's the same type of photosynthesis we ate trying to encourage in a fuge, and mine has worked out alright. That said, any of the other options are better, but if you need a quick fix, this'll work until you go for the real deal!

First off I would like to thank you guys for all of the feed back.

I was able to get a look at the 'Finnex FugeRay LED Aquarium Light' when I stopped by at Living Sea off Devon but they only had the 12" and my Refugium area is 14.25". I asked them if they had legs and if it would expand to fit but they didn't know.

@Herbie & KeishaKornbread, the Coral Compulsion lights look nice but I would like to keep my cost for these lights in the 50 dollar range.

@thk, this is what I was leaning towards.

I use $5 Home Depot clamp fixtures with $5 power compact flood bulbs and have always had great results on both of my tanks.
