Return pump question

I'm looking into adding a sump to my 40 breeder, by getting an overflow box and using an extra tank that I have. So my question is about the return pump. They have one at my LFS that I can get brand new for $30, and its more than enough GPH for my tank. I think its some Chinese made pump. I have seen people here and elsewhere talking about and advertising return pumps for 200-300, and I'm just wondering what makes those expensive ones so much better? To me it seems like a good place to cut corners -- as long as it moves water shouldn't I be good? It will be enclosed in a cabinet under my tank so I can't see noise being that much of a problem either.

Thanks!

The cost goes into how quite the pump is and also that it is reliable giving you piece of mind that it will not fail at the in opportune time. IE out of town. For that tank a good pump will not be 200-300 though.

As said quiet, head height and most of all reliability. I my self do not like cutting corners. Our saltwater frends need a good stable home to live, if 1 part of your system goes out it affects the hole system and our frends which cost a lot of money needs this. So pay now or pay later

Ok thanks for the responses. Recommendations on a good one for this tank size? the sump would be right underneath so only need about 3-4 feet head height or so
