Return Pump

As some of you know my 40 gal. Breeder project is almost done :) I bought Return Pump as last piece to finish… I decided to buy new version of Jebao DCT 4000 which max flow is little over 1000 gal/hour. But Im confused now. Either pump is defective or…. no idea. Pump has 10 speeds but on full power it is still little flow in the tank. I don't know whats going on. I have a 3/4 PVC return pipe split with tee and then pipes go to two corners. Nothing fancy just regular plumbing. I will try to return it and get 6000. Will see if I can do it. So Im back on market for Return Pump. Any idea what I did wrong? thanks.View attachment 10825View attachment 10826View attachment 10827View attachment 10828

That last pic shows how small inside diameter is. I can't believe it. Looks like less then 1/2". I went to Home Depot and bought some PVC and change that part with inside almost 3/4". It did help a lot but still not what I would like :(

I am guessing the pump can't handle the volume with split returns. Also shouldn't the output be larger than the 2 returns?

Just get the dc12000 and b done with it. Also that reduction in line size is a major part of the head pressure loss

I will get bigger one. But 12000? That's too much for 40 gal. isn't? I thought maybe 6000 or 8000...

I use the 12000 to feed my 93 and 30 and it's on 50%. The 12000 is the best bang for your buck, but Def too much pump for a 40

That output diameter is tiny, may be part of the issue. Do you have it teed off and what's the head pressure?

I return that pump and ordered 8000. Its on its way. Temporary i run Mag 12. My 125 back up.QUOTE=dom418;301873]That output diameter is tiny, may be part of the issue. Do you have it teed off and what's the head pressure?[/QUOTE]
