Reviving a Fish from Breathing on the Bottom

Hey everyone! So I had the joy of waking up this morning, the day I was going to add my Moorish Idol to my DT, to find it laying on the bottom of the tank breathing a bit slower than normally. Sure enough, there was an overnight Ammonia Spike, and the Idol didn't like anything about it. So, I've been dripping it into my DT for the past 1:15, hoping to reverse the effects. I've seen freshly imported fish do this at LFSs and turn around completely, and I'm hoping that my Idol does the same. If anyone has any advice on how to help out the fish, please, do tell.

Thanks everyone, and have a great Labor Day! :goldfish:

I hope the little guy makes it!!!! How did you find out you had a overnight ammonia spike by the way? Do you know what caused it? That's what sucks about the morish idol is that they are real sensitive.

Question for the community. Would methylene blue help with the fish'es respiration? I've read it helps with ammonia burn but I wanted to know anybody with first hand use of it.
