Ro / DI Canisters Stuck

Soo... it's time to change my DI resin, and a filter, but these things are impossible to budge. I suppose not having the wrench to open them doesnt help (bought it second hand and did not realize that was missing). To make it even worse / impossible - having recently gone through shoulder surgery, I can more or less only use one hand. I managed to change out my gfo/carbon in the same style canister (BRS stuff), but my guess is that the previous owner of this ro/di massively overtightened this. I'm at a bit of a loss, as I desperately need some top-off water and should make a new batch of saltwater.

Anyone have any ideas on opening them? Otherwise I suppose I can head to the closest lfs and pay way too much for water :(

Also - if anyone has a spare white canister wrench for BRS ro/di units, I would be much obliged!

take off your belt and wrap it around the canister. Grasp the ends as they come around very tightly and then use that as a wrench (they even sell strap wrenches like that). And hardware store also sells the DI wrenches in their water purifyer section. A little heat or even vinegar around the lip might help also.

If you have a large rubber band try using it to help grip. What I use for lids on jars I can't get off by hand.
