Sea apple - tank bomb or awesome addition?

So I added this Australian sea apple to my very established 50 gallon reef tank. He climbed from this spot and is in the corner of the tank looking fine now.

Do any members have successful (or unsuccessful) actual experience with these guys? From what I've read the legends of these guys crashing tanks when stressed seem to be overblown

Yeah they look great but they are just like playing with fire, you are always told not to play with it but most do anyways. I just don't see the reward for the risk

They are filter feeders and need a lot of food, your established 50 gal. will not provide them with enough for its long time survival. What are your plans for food then?
