Sea Urchins Anyone?

Cool, I have a royal urchin and a short spine urchin in my 29 gallon reef. I honestly don't feed them anything and they've been doing great for about a year now. They helped clean up my algae.

I have a Purple Tipped Urchin just like in the first post and also a Halloween Urchin but mine only has White Spines.

Both are awesome at cleaning up any algae in the 90 Gallon. Only thing that sucks is that they bulldoze everything. Strong little suckers... They have caused a couple of rock collapses in my tank but after the couple of times though, I secured all the rocks.

They also pick up any loose frags, everything has to be glued down or they will be taken for a ride.

I dont have one, i always saw them but never really thought of gettin' one. I like the one u have how's ur experience with it so far (Reef safe, feeding, how big is it, what size tank)?

Mine hasn't really shown growth, it moves about grazing on whatever it can get, if i give it the fish's food, pellets flakes, mysis , brine, it will eat it but i stopped feeding it.
I was worried at first it would would climb on corals, but no, I have never witnessed that, it must know what is rock and what is coral, probably the corals use their slime. I was also also worried that it would eat my coralline algae, but no, the purple urchin has never done any noticeable change to my aquarium. Sometimes it covers itself with rocks and those rocks might have a zoo or small shroom on them. SO i'd say the purple is very reef safe, but I can't speak for any other species.
