Sealing suggestions

Hey all

I was doing some clean up on my tank yesterday and noticed some salt crystals forming on my overflow line to the sump. I have a very, very slow leak, slow enough that the floor never sees water, but wanted to know if I could seal this up without actually taking it apart. Out of the overflow I have an adapter that screws on to the bulkhead that I wrapped with teflon tape, and that's where its leaking a bit. I'd post pics but its a b**** to get back there (hence why I don't want to take it down....). I had a few ideas, maybe wiping it dry and coating with silicone, or maybe even super glue since its so slow. Any ideas?

If it's already kinda leaking, will the silicone have time to cure properly? Is there a way to disconnect just that part that's leaking and use PVC cement? Actualy what I would do is take all the overflow piping apart and cement them all, if you can get behind your tank at all, then you can be sure they will never leak. It just takes PVC cement about 2 hours to cure and your tank will be fine for 2 hours as long as you have good powerheads running in the tank.

If you go the silicone route, you might want to stop overflow flow for a few hours anyway to let it harden a little bit. Maybe use just a thin amount to let it harden faster, then just layer some more on it.

I'm gonna go the second suggestion route. I can't get it all apart without a major, major headache. Thanks guys!
