Shaving Brush Macro

Wasn't sure where to post this... I've got a shaving brush I had in dt a rock fell on it and basically cracked the brush part and now has a hole through it from hermits eating the dead. If I were to cut the brush of will it regrow or is it a goner?

cut and kept it in fuge, it's growing back!

Btw, do you run an SPS tank?

I have a mixed coral nano tank. But, I do wan't detectable phosphates and nitrates at 0. Will a shaving brush thrive?

Since it is a nano, will dead leaves easily pollute the tank? I don't mind the occasional pruning for maintenance.
