Skimmer advice for 75g

Yeah, I have been looking at those...Unfortunately the ES7 is about 100 dollars out of my price range right now. The good thing is, that if I do go with the BM to start, the pump is upgrade-able down the road when I can afford to do so...Again, im not trying to "cheap out" I just want the best I can get for the money I have to work with.
 
Ahh ok I didn't realize the price difference. To be honest I think you'll be fine with a bm curve. It's a nice design, easy to disassemble for cleaning, and the pump is decent. I run an SCA 302 which is a cheap ebay skimmer and I have a fairly successful sps dominant reef with colorful coral and good growth.is the BM the best skimmer option available? No. But it's a decent middle of the road skimmer that'll get the job done.

Do you know of one that fits my price limit of 300? I'm open to all suggestions before I pull the trigger.
 
My interpretation is "stability is better" with smaller more frequent changes...if your system doesn't need "fine stability control", it comes down to what's easier for you to "replenishing trace elements and exporting built up impurities"

The BM Curve 7 comes in right at $300, and if you're able to squeeze out a little bit more money the Vertex Omega 130 is $319. From what I've read the build quality and performance of the Vertex is amazing.

Or there's the Aquamaxx Cones CO-1 for $290. My first two choices would be Vertex and Aquamaxx then BM
 
The vertex omega 130 is on sale for 250 right now, my concern is that the 130 isn't rated high enough for what I want...

I've been running the omega 150 for a year and a half and I love it. If the 150 is on sale for anywhere your $300 budget, I would recommend it.

The reason i do water change daily is because i use bare bottom for my clown system, and i cant keep large flow. so, i have to clean the bottom manually.
but i prefer larger water change too.
i was gonna say about the omega 130, personally, i don't look at those "tank size rates" from manufacturers. but i compare the body diamater, power consumption and air draw.
