skimmer question

so I've seen lots of pics of people using the hose to empty skimmer into a bucket or container my question is I was told that this will give negative results in the production but if it's already kicking out all the garbage into the cup how could this be I always clean my skimmer everyone I empty.7 days or so so if continue to clean it every week would it still work

I've never heard that before,you have to clean the neck weekly regardless of where the skimmate drains to.

once again misinformed thanks for the advice...I always clean the skimmer as far as I can reach then s wet few months I take it apart
