Your tank is beautiful. If you want a firefish, you will need to get a top. They are known to jump. Good luck

Very nice. Is it 2x2x2? Looks taller than it is wide. I love that coral banded but have been too Leary to get one myself. Welcome!

Thanks everyone!

Very clean looking tank. How long have you have this tank running for ?

Tank has been running for just a month, but all of the contents were switched over to it from a standard 55 gallon that I had running for just under a year. All the equipment is the same as well, except the lighting. I was running PC lighting on the 55 when a ballast went out, decided to switch over to LED instead of replace the ballast. After realizing a single Radion was not enough to light the tank (as I had anticipated) I decided to get a different size tank than another Radion. About the same cost, yet I get much better dimensions, more volume, and an overall cleaner setup.

Yup it's Marineland's 2x2x2 with their stand and canopy. Coral banded has been behaving himself so far...:spy: He's still pretty small though, but he's just a lot of fun to observe. He is constantly running around the tank, especially when he sees me.

Where would you all suggest is the best LFS to pick up a yellow eye kole at? More interested in the overall health of the fish rather than the price, but I don't want to get ripped off either. I was at Petland in Bolingbrook just perusing as I was in the area, and most of their saltwater fish and corals looked terrible.

Check out reefwise in lisle. They usually have a few yellow eye kole tangs and I've never once had an issue with fish from there.

They do qt there but as always we suggest you qt all new arrivals yourself.

+1 for Reefwise, their fish are top notch and I recently picked up a very small Kole that is doing very well.

Yeah reefwise is what I was thinking, I've been there quite a few times and their fish always look very healthy.

Few pix I just took, and a question about some SPS. I picked up the 3 frags of SPS for $20 Aquapros had on sale about a month ago. The last 3 pics are of each one. Should they have more polyp extension? I have no idea what each one is, so I don't really know what they should even look like. This is my first time giving SPS a shot, figured it was a good time with this sale they had going on. I just glued all three in a row on a rock and stuck em up high in the tank.

I really need to pick up a tripod this weekend, then I should be able to increase my depth of field. I'm still kind of a noob when it comes to photography so I could be wrong... But I figure with a tripod I'll be able to decrease my shutter speed in order to compensate for the brightness i'll lose by increasing the aperture.

Also I picked up a yellow eye kole finally! Got him from reefwise last friday, he seems very health. Took to both brine shrimp and algae sheets right away.

He always looks so happy. haha

Started working on a VERY small 2.5gallon fuge, but i'm hoping its big enough to sustain a pod supply for a single mandarin. Plus I'll throw a bit of chaeto in there.
