I purchased this fish yesterday and I believe he will be be a great new addition once settled in. I was looking at all the different Dottybacks online and had a few questions.

1) Can you add a second Dottyback to a 29g tank?
2) Whats the best; lease aggressive of the group?
3) I understand they are Hermaphrodites; will they pair up to only like dotties or cross species. IE Spendid with Neon.
4) What do you guys suggest I should feed him? My clowns and YWG like the pellets and Azox. They are mostly carnivorous and i will be picking up mysis and brine today, but id like to get a prepared food with all those wonderful ingredients included.
5) Do you have a fav DB?

I have one as well and love it. Even in my 180 I would be afraid to add a 2nd basslet to the tank. He's beautiful but one seriously mean mofo when other fish come near his territory. He even went after the poor defenseless mandarin grazing past his home. I've even seen him chase off my idol that's easily 6-7 times larger. I would only try adding another splendid and hope they pair up. Mine eats whatever is fed to the tank, he's not picky at all.

Okay so, he's doing great. Very cool fish that never ventures to top 1/3 of tank. Darts from cave to cave. He is curious of me and chases off my clown, but she deserves it. Him and my ywg share a few caves without any prob. Ive fed him table shrimp, azox, and spectrum pellets. At night this guy is out laying on sandbed.

I'm sure his attitude will compliment those striking colors. He easy to spot and swims all over rockwork. I'm keeping the top on. On night one I search for 20 min with flashlight in rockwork and couldn't find him. I thought he jumped already. Then spotted him sifting around sandbed.
