Hey Everyone,

does anyone know what this SPS is? We got this in June as a small frag at MCF but of course was so excited to buy it, we forgot to ask what it is haha. It's growing great and very bushy, and we thought it was an Echinata, but I don't think it is.

Thanks

was it out of the display tank? they do have a joe in there, and it does look like a joe. def not an enchinata or valida.

Looking at Joe the Coral images online, that is definitely the closest match, but ours just doesn't look exactly. We don't really have the green color on blue tips. Its more grey with blue tips. Plus, ours is really fuzzy.

I think you all are right. If MCF Joe the Coral is the one close to the overflow in their display tank, then that was the one.

Yep, that's it. You need stronger lights then! :whip:

I think its slightly in a shadow from a powerhead because its like 12" below a bright AI SOL. Maybe Ill see if I can move it slightly. Eitherway, it still looks decent just needs to grow up a bit.

mmmm i love the AI sols... the blue one tho... my favorite LED at macna.

The blues were too blue for me.

I know a lot of people like the 20K Kelvin look, but its just too blue for me. I don't think it looks natural.

We bought the whites, and then use an aquacontroller to put the whites at about 80% and the blues at 100%.

This results in about 14K color I think.
