Stocking my new 150G....

Hey Guys, I'm looking for a stocking list in my 150G 60x24x24 cube... So far I have some ideas, but need some input from the group! I have a VERY large skimmer, so should have absolutely no issues with a heavy tank load. I will be keeping large LPS (Frogspawn, Hammer, and Torch colonies), and a Gigantea anemone when the tank is mature enough. I'll have some SPS, but not a whole bunch, we want to emphasize fish this time around more. I have a large Fuge, so pod growth should be no issues what so ever.

Right now, we are going to be moving from our current 60G cube, so the baby onyx is going, Mandarin (if we can find him, heh), and the Black Saddleback is being sold... since she's a bit of a biatch.

So Far we will have in the new 150

- Baby Onyx
- Mandarin
- Orangeback Fairy Wrasse (if I can get him out of this cube's overflow)
- Yellow watchman goby (if I can get him out of this cube's overflow)

Things I would like to stock...

- More wrasses. How many more wrasses, and what kind of cool wrasses would go well in this tank?
- Another Mandarin.
- Tangs. Certainly need some tangs, but don't know what would be cool, and how many. I like Yellow Tangs, Kole Tangs, Chevron tang... How many, and who would co-exist well in there?
- Chromis group (5-7 Chromis)... I know they will kill each other at some point, but they would look pretty cool.
- Possibly an angel.. I know they nip, but I LOVE Coral Beauties, and Flame Angels (Dwarfs).
- 3 Anthias possibly?

That's an initial stocking list. The tank's parameters are settled down now, skimmer is kicking up some nasty gunk, and Radions are on their schedule, so I might add the Chromis soon to get things going (today even)...

Thanks guys, appreciate the ideas.

Because you have a cube and not a long I suggest the chevron as your tang and get them while they are small, they are great algae eaters ( at least mine is) and they dont do a lot of back and forth swimming compared to the hippo and other tangs. I would go with maybe a purple to add some color and those are usually pretty peaceful.

Would a Chevron Tang & Yellow Tang co-exist in theory?

In theory yes but it depends on the fish really, I have a purple, yellow, scopas, chevron, orange shoulder, hippo, naso, and sailfin all living together in harmony so as long as you acclimate them together and add them in the right order you should be ok

After looking around more, I love a Melanarus and Christmas Wrasse..... Anyone know if these would both co-exist in my tank?

Get like five blue reef chromis for some royal blue in the tank an African flame back angel fish for a dark blue with a golden blaze down its back I would go for a sunburst Anthias for some pink and orange
And if bright purple with a black blaze is your thing check out a black cap basslet and for a tang gold rims are real cool not as common as powder blues or browns yet not as expensive as a achyles and don't forget a mystery wrasse or blue spot jaw fish hope that gives you a good starting list happy fishing!

So far our stocking list includes...

- Powder Blue Tang
- Hippo Tang
- Yellow Tang

- Exquisite Fairy Wrasse
- Yellow Fin Fairy Wrasse
- Whip Fin Flasher Wrasse

- Yellow Watchman Goby
- Mandarin Goby

- Long Nose Hawkfish

- BooYah's Onyx
- Soon to be mate for the Onyx

I'm looking to add more wrasses, more than likely some more fairy or flasher wrasses. The other option is the ornate Fairy Wrasse (Christmas Wrasse). I really do like those.... really.. heh, just don't want my CUC to go down in flames.
