Obviously they were subjected to harmful conditions by being thrown into someone's pockets.Be on the look out for distressed, suspicious clams on Craiglist or eBay. They may not survive long! I never would have imagined someone taking a live animal from my facility knowing the care I put forth. The animals should come first!!!

thats crazy...shotank just got robbed a few weeks ago...I know for sure they took a 300 dollar red carpet anemone. I'm not sure what other corals they took...
 
People that steal have a sickness. Doesnt matter what it is. It's a small investment to setup up some cameras through-out his place. They make very affordable units and it would make people think twice. Too bad you have to watch grown ups more so than kids, you'd expect a kid to steal a candy bar. Hopefully he can think back to who was there at that time.
 
The shop I go to regularly is smaller than Reefwise by a bit. The last time I was there my son commented on how the owner must trust me because he walked out of the store for a moment and left me alone. I almost feel sorry for someone who is so down or desperate that they would do that. Those of us who appreciate this hobby and the work that goes into caring for a shop like that can feel his pain.

Your out of line . I feel for the guy that got ripped off .
I saw his add and saw the clams . Clams have markings and sizes that are unique if you wanted to help get that add picture and post what people should be looking for not my clams.

I dnt thnk anybody should just post any link of someone selling clams.. What ur basically doing is accusing the person by posting their link.. Probably whats best is to post pictures of the stolen clams and a description of the person if we knw how they look like..


Side note.. Topwater great looking clams.. Good luck with ur sale
 
I just got back from Reefwise and had a chat with Brian. They stole 7 Ultra Maximas and it was a team operation. One distracted him and the other pocketed the clams while Brian and the other dude were looking up stuff. They had a van outside and probably a bucket of water for the clams. It's a shame because he had over 20 clams that he brought in JUST for this weekend's sale. He sold a few but it's still a hit to lose $75 per piece.

He hasn't filed a police report but there is video of the guy's van but he really can't prove anything. He's still a new business and learning as he goes along and with all of his money invested in his livestock and keeping them at their best, he just didn't have enough to invest in high-end security for his shop, those the complex does have cameras.

I picked up a small Ultra Maxima, Gorillas in the Mist Acan and a Purple Haze Monti. He's one of my two favorite LFS and I want to see him do well, so I make sure to spend to support him so he can support my obsession. I suggest you all do the same. He's a great guy.
 
maybe we should make a list of anyone we know with vans? not saying they did it just so we know who they are?
