Strange Welso Breakfast

I looked at my tank this morning....as I usually do....to watch what life is swimming around the tank before the lights come on. I spotted just in time my Welso eating a snail for breakfast.

The best I can figure is that a snail dropped off of the acrylic and smack dab right on top of the Welso while it was feeding. If you look at the pictures here... you can see the snail inverted being consumed by the Welso.

Has anyone seen anything like this. I would have to imagine that what goes in will...come out. I am hoping the Welso is not injured or adversely impacted by this early morning snack.

That's awesome Dan! I had that happen with my Bowerbanki. I'll see if I can find the picture of it and post it. It was funny, there was a spike coming out of it's mouth.

I just looked in the tank after my early morning conference call....and it looks like the snail has been burped out... It was on the bottom....looking a little shiny... of course the 2 hermit crabs I have in the whole tank were already pushing the shell under the rock... I am sure to complete what ever digestion has left behind. My pictures may have been of the Welso trying to "disgard" the shell...

The Welso looks no worse for wear. Perhaps thanking its lucky stars to have passed that thing...

poor snail :( In about a week you'll see a shiny, sucked clean, snail shell next to your welso!
