I am looking to add some sort of actinics to my tank for more pop and the dusk dawn effect. I am wondering what people use t5 vho led diy retro or a fixture I just buy.

No, I'm not a communist..
I think that running 2 Vho's looks the best, by far (a 420nm and 460nm). However, I went with a ReefBrite XHO strip because I didn't have the space in my canopy to mount the Vho's. The Reefbrites do a really nice job and I'm happy with them, but they are expensive (about $300 for a 36" XHO strip) IMHO, I would have preferred Vho's if only I had the room.
