suspended detrius in 60 cube

I'm runinng barebottom seems that I can't get my water without detrius in the water don't know why I'm runing carbon , sock on my drain skimmer skiming wet, nothing. Return around 350gph to 400,two tunzes 6045 moded on each side of overflow in the back wall pointet little bit toward each other and up , what's the problem?????? Corals seems to don't care mostly sps dominated , nice polyp extension , can't be hapier with the color . What's the problem??? Any ideas

Try running higher turnover and getting more water thru the sump. An alternative is to run a canister flitler with mostly floss material to remove the detritus. Don't run 24/7 just several hours a week as needed. It's what LFS' do to keep crystal clear water.

I wouldn't turn up the sump return, it's at about 6x volume, which is good. I would change the direction of the tunzes you have. it's a bare bottom, you can point them lower. Detritus builds up where there isn't enough flow to keep it suspended in the water column (another reason to keep sump turnover lower), so that just means those are low flow areas in the tank. With bare bottom, its time to swirl the water around all over the tank.

+1
get that poo up and out

so kind of find other idea to geting rid of those suspended detrius . i blocked most of lower part of the intek that coming from lower slits to have more surface skiming so the biger detrius insted of trying to get to the top thru lover slits will more easly fall from the upper one. will see in a couple of days

Or at the least have one pointed up and one down. That will create a circular gyre in the system which is very helpful for keeping detritus suspended in the water column.
