I would like to put a few tangs in my 125. What are some that will be ok together. Would like to do two or three. Could be same or different just wanting to know some options. Currently no fish in tank. Peaceful reef is plan. Thanks

Yellow, regal, salfin are all good choices, so are the bristle tooth tangs, like koles, tomini or chevron.

If you want a powder blue, or sailfin/purple, put those in last

if you are going for multiples I would try and add them all at the same time so they can each establish their territory, if you add one at a time they are more likely to become hostile, my kole will attack any new fish added to the tank, not just other tangs.

Regal, Sailfin and Chevron are all 180-240 gallon minimum tangs, I wouldn't put them in a 125. A yellow tang together with a Sailfin is a little iffy. My Sailfin bullies my Regal a little in a 210.

Also if you choose one of the Ctenochaetus make sure you don't put a Blenny in there with him. Personally I would go with a smaller Zebrasoma species like Yellow, Purple or Scopas along with a Ctenochaetus whichever. Putting the Zebrasoma in last.

3 yellows you are looking at 300 gallons+ probably for them to be happy, a 125 is not all that big depending on rockwork if u wanted to do a couple tangs you are probably best off with a bristletooth and a yellow type (yellow, black, scopas, etc)

Are the Tang restrictions all about territory disputes? I always thought it was only about the tangs wanting lots of room to swim around.

I have a blue hippo and a yellow tang that are about the same size and they get along great. I hope that doesn't change.

And BigKev... AWESOME AVATAR!!!

I wasn't saying all 3!! :p I still say one of those is a good choice, but a powder blue is a good choice, just put them in last.

I've got a red sea sailfin, orange shoulder, chevron and regal in my 180, no problems at all...

Sure, but that's a 180 not a 125. The point is that all of those tangs have a minimum of 180-240 gallons. Not 180 together, but the space of a 180 for a single one.

What kind of tang is this? LFS said "blue tang" which I assume means Atlantic ble tang, but juveniles are supposed to be yellow right? This looks more like a purple to me as far as color. Size is about 2".

I have a Naso, BlondeNaso, Hippo, Sailfin, Purple, PowderBlue all together in my 450g for quite some time now and everyone gets along great(knock on wood)!
