test kits

if someone wanted the most accurate test kit for each test. Looking for accuracy at low levels for most.

I ordered Hanna kits for Phos, Calc, Alc

I have been using tetra easy strips, which only tell me if I am bad. Need low level accuracy

I have not purchased Magnesium kit yet.

I have PH probe and refractometer

What kits do you use, what is most accurate for each? What else should I test?

Thanks

ok but which do you use?

I am too new to give a good recommendation based from experience, but I use API for everything, except I don't have a magnesium kit yet and I also use Apex Ph probe. I just wanted to pass on the website that seemed to give good recommendations.

I would use api for the nitrogen cycle. Sea chem for mag, alk, cal and Hannah checker for phosephates. This is $150 worth of just test kits. I take my water to aquatica and they use seachem pro for the basic Cal, alk, mag. Api for phosephates.

Testing for nitrate and phosephates is not done as often once tank matures. I personally don't check em unless I see unusual algae outbreaks. Keeping up on cal, mag, and alk is important to keep coral growing and thriving. You can have a lil p04 or NO2, but if your cal is off your mag and alk can be all over the place.

This hobby is more about caring for water than anything.
