VHO actinics questions

Hey guys,

I'm purchasing a set of VHO actinics for my 75gal tomorrow. It is a 2x 110watt Actinic setup. I've been wanting more actinic/blue for my tank for a long time now. Now i've just been using 2x 30" T5ho actinics for my tank and have been setting them for my "sunrise" lights before my 1st MH pendant goes on, etc. Then the T5ho's are on for another hour or so after both MH's are off...

Now changing to the 2x 110watt VHO setup, i wanna do the same thing, would it be too bright to do the "sunrise" and "sunset" effect with them? They will be powered by one ballast so both will be on at the same time.

hey guys,

just fitted these into my canopy today. now adding the 2x110watt super actinic bulbs, would that cook anything in my tank? Do i need to reacclimate my corals to the added light? Or do the actinics do nothing but added color to the tank?

Ya, I may replace them with te 454's. They just came with the super actinic bulbs so im using them till they need to be replaced. The corals look so cool with just actinics. Will it be the same effect with the 454's? Everything glows with the super actinics.
