Vitamin C Dosing

My zoas were receding & actually some that were previously growing like weeds (Mohawks) were even melting during the 2 months I stopped dosing. I have been back dosing for a little over 2 weeks now & the Mohawks are coming back & all the rest are in a HUGE growth spurt. Again--IDK why some have such great results with this & others see nothing different. Maybe their tank is already at it's peak growth potential. I don't know of anyone who's zoas were not doing well though, that did not have success after dosing, unless they has fungus growing on them. I have even eradicated Zoapox with dosing at very high levels in a QT.
 
Jmsalt1, I'm glad you mentioned you have a skimmer running on that tank. I would definitely suggest AGAINST dosing without one! Although, I do think the amount you are adding is nominal for a 10g.
 
Just ordered some of the Vitamin C I will update this thread as I'm dosing this stuff with before and after pictures.. Iphone Pics tho :( wish I had a better camera..
 
My order from iHerb arrived yesterday. In my 30 gal tank (figure 24g, minus rock and sand) I will begin dosing one scoop (scoop that came with iodine test kit, about 1/10 teaspoon) twice daily when lights are out. I will increase gradually, over the next 10 days or so until I am dosing 5 scoops, about half a teaspoon, twice a day. That should be roughly 5ppm if I'm not mistaken. I may continue to increase dosage but we'll see what happens for now. As soon as I can I'll start a new thread with pictures of several colonies in my tank to document progress.
Thanks Pufferpunk for the detailed instructions and explanations. The concepts of VitC dosing make good sense to me, and the health of your corals speaks for itself.
 
I have just received my VIT-C on Monday and started dosing. I took before pics and I will wait 2 weeks or so and post an update in a thread. I will be dosing 1/4 tsp in a 60 gallon with a 15 gallon sump. Morning and night. Thanks again...
 
I also Started dosing Vit-c a week ago so hopefully we see some results :) as long as my zoas are happy and growing I am happy.
 
Figured i haven't updated in a while, i switched over to a bigger tank a couple weeks ago and have gotten lazy/kept forgetting about dosing vitamin C. I can definitely tell the difference, some of them aren't open and everything isnt looking as good. I started back up this morning so gotta get back into the routine of dosing again.
