Volitan Lionfish coral safe?

I purchased a black volitan lionfish, I was wondering if I can have it with corals or not. I know they eat little fishes. I was going to set up a Predator tank, but decided to just have one big tank going right now. Otherwise, does anybody want to trade one for a reef safe fish? My black volitan is about 6-7" big and looks like any black volitan out there. Does anyone know how small the fish have to be in order to fit in one of these guys mouths?

He can eat half of his length, so if he is 7" inches he can easily eat a 3.5" fish. They won't touch corals though.

Geez! some of my tangs are 3.5" Anyone want to trade for a reef safe fish? Let me know what you got. He would be perfect for a predator tank. I bought him from another reefer, he grew up in an aquarium and eats all kinds of frozen food every other day.
Also open to trade for a cool coral pack. I'm into SPS/chalice/acans.

It is unlikely to be a problem. Just look at the size of the Lionfish's mouth and compare it to the widest part of the fish in your tank. It is more of a problem when you have gobies, blennies, tilefish, etc. that are more cylindrical in shape. You can easily see how wide the Lion can open up its mouth just by feeding it and observing.

I bet fish watching me sit in front of a pizza says that looks a little wide for him and yet i get it down every time.

+1 wouldn't risk it
