water parameters

I check salinity, Ca, KH, and Mg weekly. I check po4 every other week. My temp and pH are constantly monitored via Apex.

Everything tested monthly during normal task list. ORP, pH, temp via apex. CA, ALk and salinity once a week or more. I'll test everything on demand if I something looks out of sorts.

I've been checking ph, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, calcium, KH, and magnesium every other day. Also the day before a water change, then several hours after a water change. It sounds excessive but my tank is pretty new and I'm trying to determine stability and usage of CA, KH, and MG. Once I figure that out, I'll probably only once a week. Specifically right before I do a water change.

Once your tank gets established and you are familiar with the inhabitants you will test less frequently. I for one have had some issues with my corner bow so I test all parameters weekly and have been watching nitrates every couple of days. For my 72 it has been months since I tested anything in that tank. I can visually see that everything is thriving. If I see something concerning then I will test its water.

Test as often as you feel comfortable...and makes sense for you.

Once my tank settled in I basically stopped testing regularly. I keep an eye on pH and temp since they are visible on my controller. Otherwise, I'll just test about once a month or if something looks a little "off".

i was testing daily, then I went to a couple times a week, down to one a week, once every two weeks. That is where I am now.

Ph and temp monitored by apex. for the most part I've been keeping track of my ALK due to some issues, so I've been checking that daily

Alk and cal Weekly. Phos and nitrates every two weeks. Sometimes more or less often on all. Temp is stable with heater and chiller. Stoped worrying about ph. Almost happy prob went on me. Winter sucks for ph. My next tank will have a air feed from outside the house.

You can run a simple airstone and hide it in behind your return. Even though the CO2 levels are higher in your house during the winter, the airstone can bump your pH around +0.10
