What algae is this?

Caulerpa ? Also do you have a sump and is there anything like it in there? Have you added anything new coral rock could have came in on them
 
Yeah that stuff was probably growing in a little hidden spot and just blew up due to something in your water that it liked

what he said , i grow Caulerpa in the sump and drop it in the display on sundays for a lilltle treat and the Red seas & Tangs devour it

I use that stuff in my sump well similar works better then cheato imo i have four tangs so i don't worry about it in display. Id let it grow if i was u jmo
